The Person Behind the Work
Hi, I'm Danny.
I started my working life in the US Navy Nuclear Power Program —
serving as an Engineering Laboratory Technician aboard the
USS Enterprise, the world's first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier,
and the USS Proteus, repairing nuclear submarines. Those six years
were the beginning of a twenty-year career in nuclear and conventional
power generation. Across that time and beyond, my work ranged widely —
fourteen years in aerospace manufacturing spanning quality management,
chemistry, production, and process control, alongside work as a concrete
worker, an electronics technician, and a draftsman in an oil company's
geology department.
That breadth matters. When you describe your business to me, I'm not
nodding politely — I'm actually understanding it. Most web designers
know the internet. I know how industries work.
The IT thread runs further back than most people expect — I was already
taking on IT as collateral duties aboard the Enterprise. Every
employer since has figured that out and quietly made me their department
of one, until I finally made it official as a Linux and Unix systems
engineer. It was never a second career. It's always been there.
Luker Studio exists because small businesses and charitable organizations deserve
websites built with the same care and craft as large organizations —
without the agency price tag or the handoff to a junior.
When you work with me, you work with me. And when your site
is live, I don't disappear — I stay on to keep it fresh, relevant, and yours.
Credentials Microsoft-certified in AI engineering and data science — the technical depth that sets this studio apart.
